Sometimes Life Flies By

Well school has been in session for nearly two months and it seems like just yesterday I arrived in Logan to start another week and a half of drumming...sadly there are only two football games left in the season and then I will probably be done playing bass drum for the year...which makes me sad because playing bass drum has made me feel whole again. Drumline has been rough so far because I worked all summer to be able to mark time really well, and then they stuck someone who doesn't even know how to play bass on 4th bass..which made me feel like all my hard work was worth nothing. After being bummed for a bit about it I made a decision that I was going to be the best bass on the line...and so far I think I am accomplishing that. I work hard, play hard and try to never make mistakes. I guess it is noticed sometimes because my peers and instructors have complimented me which has made me really remember why I love to drum so much.

Right before we performed on Saturday!
Well other news in my life would be the most terrific kid I know, my best friend Bryce has returned from serving his mission! I got really excited for him to get home, in fact so excited I had to tell everyone just how many days left until he was back. I have to be able to actually see him, but we do talk which is good enough for now! I forgot how great it feels to have your best friend to talk to whenever you need to talk with someone who isn't living with you.

This weekend was a super fun one. It started out with Hillary asking if I wanted to go see the Saratov Approach with her Friday night..there was no way I was saying no to her. The Saratov Approach is so fantastic! I recommend that everyone goes and sees it, such a great message and a testimony builder. It made me grateful for all of my friends who have and are currently serving full time missions. I don't think I would be able to handle being captured for days like those two boys did. The best part is they never stopped serving the Lord, at moments one of them would slip and the other would remind him that the Lord has a plan for all of us and we need to let him to what he has in plan for us. I want to be more like them, and to be able to always remember that "Thy will be done", and to wait on his time not mine. After the movie I went with Tyler to the institutes sports night at the Sports Academy. It was so fun to get to catch up with one of the funnest girls I know. Even though we didn't actually play any sports, creeping on people was fun and just chilling with her made me happy. Saturday was the football game, even though we lost I enjoyed every moment that I performed. Our halftime show this game included We are Young, Some Nights by Fun, and concluded with Startships by Niki Minaj. I played my music so well and the energy was so great! I felt like there was no way the show could have been better.

Well time has flown by this semester and I didn't even realize that it is close to half over. Life is great! I will continue to drum like a beast and be the best person I can. I hope that everyone will remember who they are and that in good time everything will be as it is supposed to be we just need to learn patience.

  1. Aw...Juleea!! I am sure you are putting your best foot forward. I loved how you turned a hard thing (working so hard and seeing others get what you want) into something so incredible. Thanks for the reminder. You are amazing!!!
